“It’s Time To Talk Day” Tells The Story of Abuse

Today, December 8th, 2010 Liz Claiborne Inc., in collaboration with Talk Radio News Service, MTV, Mariska Harigitay’s Joyful Heart Foundation and Seventeen Magazine, hosted their 7th annual “It’s Time To Talk Day” in New York City, which raises awareness about domestic violence and teen dating abuse.

As our children become adolescents and begin to enter relationships, as parents we need to make sure they are properly educated and are fully aware of the difference between a healthy, unhealthy and possibly dangerous relationship.

“It’s Time To Talk Day” creates awareness, promotes healthy teen relationships and educates parents and teens about domestic violence and teen dating abuse.

Coming together for this cause were top relationship and adolescent development experts, government leaders, domestic violence prevention advocates as well as parents of victims and teen survivors.

As parents, we need to do our due diligence and take part in this national conversation.  There is no time like the present to educate, teach and talk our children about healthy relationships.
