PBS Presents, A Place of Our Own: Grandparents Raising Kids

The award-winning PBS series, A Place of Our Own, will be presenting on Monday 16 November and Thursday 19 November 2009 a program entitled “Grandparents Raising Kids”. Check your local listing.
The program will offer grandparents with ideas on how to handle an often overwhelming situation as well as helping provide a bright future for their family.
“Sometimes very difficult circumstances occur in families that can change forever the role of grandparents, becoming permanent guardians of their grandchildren. Nationwide, more than six million children under 18 live with their grandparents, “said Joyce Campbell, executive producer for KCET-TV, Los Angeles. “While the situation can sometimes be overwhelming, those grandparents should not feel alone in this experience as challenging for them,” said Campbell.
A Place of Our Own is an informative television series and website aimed at providing parents, grandparents and caregivers with insightful, useful and valuable opportunities to help children learn and grow.
