Making sure our children are eating properly and are getting the proper exercise is very important to me. As in my previous post Raising A Fast food Generation, obesity among Latino children is at an all time high and as parents, we need to get them back on the track of healthy living. So when I saw that two positive influential Latinos such as Laura & Jorge Posada wrote a book about family, nutrition, and health titled, “Fit Home Team: The Posada Family Guide to Health, Exercise, and Nutrition the Inexpensive and Simple Way” I decided to purchase the book to gain knowledge and insight about actions used to raise healthy children.
I have to say that this book has been written cover to cover as a testament to what is really important in the life of any family, health, happiness and family values. Our society to date has become accustomed to making things fast and to go without taking into consideration the consequences of what we are putting into our bodies or that of our children.
As some one who grew up in a single parent household with a mother who worked long hours in a factory, fast food was not an option. As parents, I feel we take action to participate, teach and lead by example to create a healthy, disciplined, lifestyle for ourselves and our families. We as a community and as a people need to get healthy and it begins with us.

Recently Volkswagen gave my family and I the great opportunity to drive their 2009

Between you and me they have never looked better. Well, not until Disney began releasing its’ movies on Blue-ray. I now sit with my son and watch the Disney movies on Blu-ray glory, absolutely beautiful.
The following Disney movies are available in the Blu-ray Combo Packs: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Up, Monsters Inc., Tinker Bell, Santa Buddies, Hannah Montana: The Movie, Disney Nature: Earth, Race to Witch Mountain, Jonas Brothers: the 3 -D Concert Experience, Bedtime Stories, Bolt, Pinocchio, High School Musical 3, and Sleeping Beauty.
As someone who grew up in the 80’s, watched and loved a variety of educational shows on PBS (Mister Rogers Neighborhood, The Electric Company, Reading Rainbow, Sesame Street and 3-2-1-Contact rounding out my top 5). I jumped at the chance to get an opportunity to watch one of their newer series from The Jim Henson Company; “
